Here’s a super fun and easy Easter treat. This is the perfect treat for those with a sweet tooth. These Oreo Cheesecake Eggs are filled with a simple cheesecake filling and a layer of Oreo crumbs in the centre. It turns a plain hollow Easter Egg into a delicious dessert.
For those who prefer a slightly less sweet and a little more sophisticated option, you could definitely substitute all the milk chocolate with dark. And feel free to add a dash of espresso or even liqueur to the cheesecake mixtures for a more adult version.
If you prefer bite sized versions, feel free to use smaller eggs. And decorate the Oreo Cheesecake Eggs with whatever Easter treats you wish.

Oreo Cheesecake Eggs
Ingredients
- 200 grams Hollow Chocolate Eggs (2 x 100g) Halved
- 250 grams Plain full fat cream cheese (1 tub) Softened to room temperature
- 60 ml Fresh Whipping Cream
- ¼ tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1½ Tbsp Castor Sugar
- 65 grams Oreo Cookies (approx. 6 cookies) Crumbed
Instructions
- Halve the chocolate eggs
- Tip: I used eggs filled with sweets as their two halves are not stuck together. If you need to cut the eggs in half, Place the blade of a sharp thin knife in very hot water for a few minutes. Remove, dry, then gently press the blade onto the seem of the egg halves. This should help to cut it evenly without breaking. Repeat the heating before cutting the next egg
- Place the Oreos into a food processor and pulse until crumbed, or place in a sealable plastic bag and smash them with a rolling pin. If you prefer larger chunks just chop them roughly with a knife
- Whip the cream then set aside. Next using the same mixer, mix the softened cream cheese, castor sugar and vanilla together until well combined and smooth (See notes below for options). Then fold through the whipped cream until fully incorporated*
- Spoon a little bit of the cheesecake mixture into the bottom of the egg halves, then sprinkle each with a layer of cookie crumbs. Top with the remainder of the cheesecake mixture, smooth out with the back of a spoon and place in the fridge to set for 2 to 3 hours
- Decorate and serve with any Easter treats you wish, or sprinkle over some more Oreo crumbs or even a drizzle of caramel sauce
